Takeda, Abbott Splitting Joint US Venture; Abbott to Receive About $1.5B

March 20, 2008--Takeda Pharmaceutical and Abbott Laboratories are splitting their joint US venture, TAP Pharmaceutical Products. Abbott gets all current and future rights and revenue to the oncology treatment Lupron (leuprolide acetate), and Takeda gets the same for the ulcer drug Prevacid (lansoprazole). Takeda will pay Abbott roughly $1.5 billion over five years contingent on Prevacid and future product sales. Forbes.com
