Sources: Pfizer Eyeing MediGene as Takeover Target

May 14, 2008--According to industry sources, Pfizer is exploring acquisition possibilities in the German biotech sector and has held talks with MediGene’s management. MediGene has a prostate cancer drug and a genital warts treatment on the market, plus a promising new product pipeline. MediGene believes its pancreatic cancer drug candidate, Endotag, is poised to become a potential blockbuster. Both companies declined to comment on the prospect. Reuters
