GSK Cutting Jobs in North Carolina

February 29, 2008--About 70 of the 1,050 employees at GlaxoSmithKline’s pill production and packaging plant in Zebulon will be out of their jobs in about 60 days. Demand for four pills that are made or packaged at GSK’s Zebulon plant is expected to decline this year due to generic competition. Due to the layoffs, GSK forfeited $1.4 million in state and local incentives tied to job growth. The Charlotte Observer
