& Co. CEO Richard T. Clark received $14.5 million in
compensation last year—an 80% increase. Clark’s base salary
was $1.62 million in 2007, up 37% from his 2006 base pay. Most of
Clark’s compensation came from the value of stock and options

president since May 2005. AP/BusinessWeek

AstraZeneca CEO David Brennan
received $4.31 million in compensation last year—a 19% decrease.
While Brennan’s salary went up in 2007, he received fewer
reimbursements and his bonus decreased vis-à-vis 2006. Brennan
took over as CEO in January 2006 and relocated from the US to the
UK. Bloomberg.com
