Reportedly Considering a Spin-off

24, 2008--Elan
Corp. is reportedly mulling a spin off of its development and
manufacturing division, Elan Drug Technology (EDT), according to
the Sunday Times
newspaper. The paper said Elan is considering the split of its
biopharmaceuticals arm, which markets its multiple sclerosis drug
Tysabri (natalizumab; co-developed with Biogen Idec), from the EDT
unit, which could be worth up to $1.5 billion. Reuters
