Profitable Year for Bristol-Myers, Abbott Execs

More company proxies disclosed 2007 compensation packages for top pharma execs this week.

James Cornelius, named Bristol-Myers Squibb’s permanent chief executive last April, received a 2007 pay package worth $11.3 million. Cornelius’ 2006 package was $1.5 million for about four months work as substitute CEO. Cornelius’ 2007 salary was $1.4 million, up from $380,000 the year before. In 2007, he received a bonus of $1.1 million compared with no bonus in 2006. The Wall Street Journal Health Blog (3/24)

Abbott CEO Miles White’s compensation package for last year was worth $33.4 million, up from $26.9 million the year before. The value of White’s options increased from $8.5 million in 2006 to $14.8 million last year, while his base salary of $1.7 million didn’t change much.
