Judge Reduces Award by $76M in Wyeth Case

February 19, 2008--A US judge reduced a $134-million judgment awarded to three Nevada women by a jury that decided their breast cancers were caused by a Wyeth drug. Granting Wyeth’s motion to find the damages excessive, Washoe County District Court Judge Robert Perry cut the judgment to about $58 million. Wyeth faces about 5,300 similar lawsuits across the US, all of which involve the drugs Premarin and Prempro. AP/CNNMoney.com
