Issues Warning on Pfizer’s Anti-Smoking Drug
On
February 1, the FDA issued an alert saying it appeared
"increasingly likely" that there may be a link between
use of Pfizer’s smoking-cessation drug Chantix (varenicline) and
suicidal behavior and other neuro-psychiatric symptoms. Total US
Chantix prescriptions for the week ended February 8 were down 5%
from the week before, according to Verispan. (2/14)
